A look behind the camera with Claire. These photographs from a PROJECT AFRO model shoot show her working on the model’s curls, followed by close-ups of the finished texture and shape.

Texture, shape and the finishing details

The behind-the-scenes photographs show the attention that goes into the finished look: Claire working around the face, checking the shape and adjusting the curls before the camera captures them. The finished photographs bring those details into focus, with defined curls and volume through the lengths.

Claire’s PROJECT AFRO journey

Claire is a member of the Fellowship for British Hairdressing’s PROJECT AFRO team for 2026. Her work with curls spans the salon and session work, and she shares that experience through training with the Wigs & Warpaint team.

Having naturally curly hair herself, Claire also understands the everyday questions behind a salon visit: how much length to take off, where the shape needs support and how to style it again at home.

Bring your own curl ideas to the salon

A shoot is a chance to explore a look for the camera. Your salon appointment starts with your own texture, preferences and routine. Bring reference photographs and tell us how you normally wear your hair; we’ll discuss a shape and finish that work for you.
