We offer complimentary consultations for many services, but some specialist appointments have a consultation fee. Our Hair Extension Consultation is a dedicated 30-minute appointment costing £30, which is fully credited against your extension fitting if you decide to go ahead. We use professional salon brands including K18, Olaplex, Kerasilk and Goldwell, choosing products according to the hair and service being performed. For professional hair extensions, we work with premium Remi Cachet and Beauty Works hair and recommend appropriate extension aftercare for the system fitted. Wigs & Warpaint also has its own range of salon products, which are popular with our clients. We don’t believe in using the same product on everyone — we choose what best suits your hair, your service and the result we’re trying to achieve.

Hair extensions are individually priced because the cost depends on the fitting method, hair range, length, density and amount of hair required. A subtle filler service will cost very differently from a complete length and volume transformation. Your 30-minute consultation is £30 and is fully credited against your fitting if you go ahead. We’ll assess your hair, colour-match you, discuss the different options and give you a clear quotation before any hair is ordered.

There isn’t one lifespan or maintenance schedule for every set of hair extensions. It depends on the brand, hair range, fitting method, your natural hair growth, lifestyle and aftercare. We work with both Remi Cachet and Beauty Works and follow the current manufacturer guidance for the specific hair and system fitted. Some methods require the extensions to be fully removed and professionally refitted at maintenance appointments rather than simply moved back up, while suitable extension hair may be reused through multiple fittings. The hair itself can last many months when correctly fitted and cared for, but different ranges have different expected lifespans. At your consultation we’ll explain the recommended maintenance schedule, expected lifespan and eventual replacement cost for the exact option you choose.

Hair extensions should only be fitted where the natural hair is suitable for them. Correct method selection, professional fitting, regular maintenance, proper homecare and professional removal are all important. At your consultation we'll assess the condition and density of your natural hair and recommend the most appropriate option. If we don't believe conventional extensions are suitable for your hair, we'll tell you rather than simply fitting them.

There is no single best extension method for everyone. We offer options including Tape-In extensions, Mini Tips, Nano Tip / Nanobond, LA Weave and weft systems, plus targeted hair fillers. The right choice depends on your natural hair density, condition, lifestyle, desired result and how much maintenance you're comfortable with. Your consultation is where we decide this together.

We recommend having your extensions professionally colour-matched at the fitting stage rather than colouring them afterwards. Our team can blend extensions seamlessly with your current colour or use them to add highlights and dimension.

Sometimes, yes. Extensions don't have to mean adding lots of length — carefully selected lightweight extensions can be used to add discreet density, create fuller-looking ends or fill specific areas. Fine and thinning hair needs particularly careful assessment, however, and extensions won't be suitable for everyone. We'll examine your natural hair before recommending a method.

Where the natural hair is healthy and strong enough to support them, extensions or targeted fillers can sometimes help restore the appearance of density following hormonal changes, menopause or a period of shedding. They do not treat the underlying cause of hair loss, so suitability is important. If your hair or scalp needs medical assessment rather than an extension service, we'll advise you accordingly.

Yes. A full head isn't always necessary. Targeted hair fillers and shorter extensions can be used to improve sparse sides, weaker areas, uneven growth, broken sections or areas that struggle to retain length. We colour-match and cut the added hair into your existing style so the result is designed around your haircut rather than simply making everything longer.

Absolutely. Many clients use extensions purely for density rather than length. We can keep your existing overall length while adding hair strategically to create fuller-looking ends, more body and a stronger shape.

Maintenance depends on the fitting method, your natural hair growth and the condition of both your extensions and natural hair. Some systems commonly require attention around every 6–10 weeks, but your stylist will give you a personalised schedule. Keeping those appointments is important — extensions that are allowed to grow too far away from the scalp can tangle, mat or place unnecessary stress on the natural hair.
