What is KERASILK smoothing?
KERASILK is part of the Kao salon family. Its professional smoothing system uses Biomimetic Silk, shea oil and heat-activated KeraShape technology. Biomimetic Silk is a vegan alternative designed to recreate qualities of silk.
The smoothing lotion and finishing serum are professional products, used as part of a salon service. This is a longer-lasting smoothing appointment, so we will discuss the change you want before beginning.

Smoothing does not have to mean choosing the straightest possible finish. KERASILK describes two approaches: Control for a more noticeable shape transformation, and Refinement for a softer, natural-looking result with movement.
If you love your curls, tell us. Smoothing can alter the way waves and curls behave, so we will discuss what is realistic for your hair. If keeping your existing curl pattern is your priority, we can talk through other options before you commit.
Before your appointment
Tell us about recent colour, bleach, relaxers, previous smoothing and any concerns about your scalp or hair condition. Bring the names of products or treatments if you know them.
Please check with us before combining smoothing with a colour appointment. Your stylist will advise on suitability, appointment order and timing after assessing your hair. We also confirm the total cost and how long to allow before treatment begins.
