Start with your skin tone

The single biggest factor is your skin's undertone. Warm undertones (golden, olive) are flattered by warm shades — honey, caramel, golden copper. Cool undertones (pink, blue) suit ash, beige and cooler browns. Your eye colour and natural base feed into it too, and it's exactly what we'll talk through at your consultation.

How much upkeep do you want?

Be honest about maintenance. All-over colour and high-contrast looks need a root touch-up every few weeks. Balayage and babylights are hand-painted so they grow out softly — far less upkeep, with a gloss or refresh every six weeks or so.

Going lighter

Lifting to blonde or platinum is a process — depending on your starting colour it may take more than one session to get there safely and keep your hair healthy. We'll always protect the hair with bonding products as we go.

Going darker

Darker is usually quicker, but it's not always as simple as it looks — going too dark too fast can look flat, so we build depth and tone rather than block it on.

Softer options: babylights and balayage

If you want a change without commitment, babylights (fine, delicate highlights) and balayage add brightness and dimension that's easy to live with.

Look after it

A colour-safe shampoo and conditioner, a weekly mask and heat protection keep the tone true and the condition good between visits.
