Men’s hair has always been part of the creative story at Wigs & Warpaint. Long before our “more than just a skin fade” message, Claire Flack was taking her men’s work into the American Crew Face Off competition.

From runner-up to a 2012 win
Claire’s runner-up result in 2011 was followed by a UK American Crew Face Off win in 2012. Our salon’s award history also records four American Crew Face Off finalist achievements — a history of taking men’s cutting and styling seriously.
From Sheffield to Milk Studios, Los Angeles
Hairdressers Journal reported the winners’ trip in June 2012. Claire travelled to Los Angeles alongside fellow winners Roy Rogers and Matthew Gavin for a professional shoot at Milk Studios. Each winner created two looks, photographed by American Crew founder David Raccuglia.
It was a chance to see a haircut become part of a complete photographic look: shape, texture and finish working together in front of the camera. That creative side of men’s hair remains an important part of our salon’s story.
